Lladró is Spain's ultimate producer of fine porcelain objects and lighting—a title earned over decades by remaining true to its tradition of craftsmanship and style. More recently, this strong sense of heritage has led to exciting collaborations with contemporary designers, proving the brand's gaze isn't just trained on the past.
Heirs to the age-old tradition of porcelain, the brothers Juane, José, and Vicente founded Lladró in 1953 at home in the village of Almàssera near Valencia. Starting with items such as vases and jugs, they practiced their craft and, three years later, began producing the sculptures for which they are now famous. Enthusiasm for the items produced by the Lladró brothers saw their small workshop expand several times until eventually they moved to Tavernes Blanques in 1958.
