Surface Says
Gregory Buntain has masterfully carved out a rarified niche in the furniture industry—one that combines small-scale craft and mass production. His inventive use of materials can be found in both his high-end Fort Standard line and FS Objects.
The Strata Collection
The Strata Collection utilizes simple connections to create visually lightweight functional structures, exploring machined metal components in solid brass and aluminum.
Cut from a three inch thick porous limestone called travertine, three intersecting planar pieces slot together to create this sculptural side table. Held together by gravity alone, the table does not require any hardware or glue.
This stone planter is made of the highly coveted “Marmoreal”, a special aggregate terrazzo material produced by Dzek and designed by Max Lamb. Available in hexagonal and octagonal shapes, the coopered construction can also be made in custom sizes and shapes.
Machined from brass, these tall candle holders demonstrate the impressive weight of solid brass. The simple shapes create an elegant accent to any room.
The die cast aluminum bowl is plated in brass and elevated off the table surface by its architecturally inspired planar legs. The brass coating is left unfinished so that it can develop a naturally darker patina over time or maintain its mirrored surface shine through polishing.
