Surface and Tumi held a dinner on Oct. 6 in New York City. The event celebrated the launch of our inaugural Travel Issue and Tumi’s 19 Degree collection. Guests included 26 people from the design community—George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg, Marnie and Adam Tihany, and Alexandra Champalimaud, among them—the Surface team, and Victor Sanz, Tumi’s newly appointed creative director.
At the dinner, Surface editor-in-chief Spencer Bailey praised the design of the new collection and his personal experience with Tumi products. Sanz introduced himself to the group and spoke about his plans for the company’s design direction.
