If you take a peak inside designers’ Moleskines, below, you’ll soon find these sketches are anything but your average doodle—making them all the more intriguing.
“Our process entails looking simultaneously at project elements in broad strokes, as well as in minute detail. From conceptual generation, to sun studies, to material selection, to detail development, each serves as a piece in solving the problem of a given design challenge. This stair study for a Carriage House renovation and addition in Brooklyn illustrates our focus on rigorous and meticulous analysis.” —Aaron Schiller
“Integration between nature and building is a key design ethos for Dan Brunn Architecture. Typically, a suburban house sits on the site more like a wall or barrier between the street and the backyard. At Bridge House, I literally turned the house ninety degrees in plan, thus elongating it, to have a continual connection throughout the interior voyage. At any given point, you have a visual and literal connection to nature.” —Dan Brunn
