On offer: The 38 intimate guest rooms and suites are done up in terrazzo floors, black-and-gray Pietra marble details, and ethereal pastel-colored upholstery and bedding. The 1930s building’s Bauhaus elements inspired the staff uniforms, designed by homegrown fashion designer Sophia Kokosalaki. It’s located minutes from the Byzantine-era square, Agia Eirini, a pocket of new-school cocktail bars and restaurants preserved by the dense and winding streets of Athens.
Standout features: Works by contemporary Greek artists such as Yiannis Varelas, Antonakis, Margarita Myrogianni, and Maria Papadimitriou are on display in the public spaces and rooms, the best of which is the penthouse, with its striking views of the Acropolis. In addition to the Italian-centric Il Baretto restaurant, the property shares space with the Zen Center Athens, which is dedicated to meditation, martial arts, and Eastern healing practices.
